US Embassy Emergency Passport Event

Published September 1 , 2023 11:01 AM IST

On September 5, the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem will hold a special application event for emergency passports. Chaim V’Chessed salutes the Embassy for hosting this event, as a service to those planning travel during the upcoming holiday season.

These passports will be limited to one year and are intended for those with upcoming travel in less than two months. Applications for full-validity passports will not be accepted. If you do not have travel within the next two months, do not make an appointment for this event.

The event will take place on Tuesday, September 5 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, by appointment only. Appointments for the event will be released on Monday, September 4 between 3-4 PM on the Embassy appointment website.

Please note: Applications will only be accepted by those who require in-person appointments. This includes adults who have lost their passport or who are applying for their first passport, and applicants under age 16.

To determine whether you need an in-person appointment, see here. Bear in mind that an adult who has a 10-year passport that expired less than 5 years ago must apply by mail or drop box.

See here for details on the passport application process.

If approved, the emergency passports will be available for pick-up at 2 PM on September 7.
