Foreign citizens are currently barred from entering Israel. Numerous Israeli citizens have non-citizen family members who seek to enter Israel. For example, families in which one spouse is Israeli, and the other is not, or Israeli parents with non-Israeli children.
The following is the current guidance from the Israeli consulate in New York:
A married couple, where only one of the spouses is an Israeli citizen, is required to submit the following documents:
- A clear copy of the marriage certificate
- A clear copy of the Israeli spouse’s passport
- A clear copy of the foreign spouse’s foreign passport
- Download, fill out and sign this form
- Download, fill out and sign this form
- Complete copy of a valid flight ticket to Israel with the names of all travelers – THIS IS MANDATORY
- Medical Insurance which will cover duration of stay in Israel, which must explicitly state that Covid is covered
A married Israeli couple with children whose children are not registered as Israeli citizens are required to submit the following documents:
- Israeli passport copy of both parents or copy of a foreign passport if one of the spouses is not a citizen of Israel
- A clear photograph of the birth certificate
- Download, fill out and sign this form
- Download, fill out and sign this form
- Complete copy of a valid flight ticket to Israel with the names of all travelers – THIS IS MANDATORY
- Passport copy of every applicant for the permit
- Medical Insurance which will cover duration of stay in Israel, which must explicitly state that Covid is covered
It has been our experience that permission is only granted to family members of Israelis if the Israeli citizen resides in Israel. If however, they do not, permission is unlikely to be granted.
