On Friday, we reported on the new policy governing entry to Israel from Green countries. Israelis and foreigners holding entry permits arriving from Green countries are now allowed to enter Israel without any quarantine requirement.
At the time, there was uncertainty as to whether quarantine would end early for those who had already arrived from Green countries. Immediately after the new rules were published, Chaim V’Chessed reached out to the Health Ministry to clarify this question.
We can now announce that on Sunday, Chaim V’chessed CEO, Rabbi Paysach Freedman was notified by a senior Health Ministry official that such travelers may cease their quarantine, effective immediately.
To summarize, those who have arrived in recent days from a Green country (see list here) and have been in quarantine since arrival, may end their quarantine, right now.
In a separate clarification, Health Ministry has advised that travelers coming from Green countries will be exempt from quarantine even if they have a stopover in a Red country, (provided that they do not leave the airport).
