Recent months have seen major delays in obtaining appointments for Israeli passports. This is largely due to a post-Covid backlog.
In an attempt to alleviate this situation, Misrad HaPnim has opened a temporary passport processing center, to service those with travel in the near future.
The center is located at 64 Mivtza Kadesh Street in Bnei Brak.
In order to obtain a passport:
- You must book an appointment here. Make sure to select the option for Darkon Zmani.
- You must prepay for the passport online. The fee is 400 NIS for an adult or 195 NIS for a minor.
- Bring along two current Israeli passport photos to the appointment, in addition to the regular requirements.
The center will issue temporary passports, which will be valid for two years from date of issuance. Passports will be processed at the center on the same day of the appointment.
Please note: As reported by Chaim V’Chessed, a dual citizen who holds a valid foreign passport does not need to present an Israeli passport at time of travel. This special exception is valid until January 1, 2023.
