May 22 Update- Good News!

Late on Friday, May 22, Interior Minister Aryeh Deri produced relief for the thousands of student visa holders currently seeking to enter Israel.

Deri issued a letter (below) announcing that an arrangement has been reached to allow students enrolled in yeshivas or schools in Israel to enter the country. The institutions themselves will apply on behalf of their students. The ministry has appointed a dedicated staff member who will process all such requests.

Further details will be published on Sunday.

WE PLEAD WITH INDIVIDUALS NOT TO REACH OUT DIRECTLY TO THE MISRAD HAPNIM REPRESENTATIVE, lest she be overwhelmed. Yeshivas and schools will receive detailed instructions on the application process.
