Chaim V’Chessed is the go-to organization for English speakers in Israel who need assistance in any kind of challenge or crisis. This past month has been a busy one. We now receive dozens of calls a day, and we open an average of 20 new cases daily – that’s over 100 per week. Cases range from bureaucratic annoyances to life and death situations. This month, we dealt with families who were kicked off health insurance, a young child who was suddenly rushed to the hospital, and a woman in need of an urgent passport for her newborn – just to name a few. These callers and countless others knew just whom to turn to in their time of need.
Over this past month, we have also continued building crucial connections with various institutions. Meetings have been held with heads of hospitals, officials of Bituach Leumi (National Insurance), and leaders of major yeshivos. We are committed to doing our utmost for the sake of Israel’s English-speaking community. We look forward to servicing more and more English speakers in the coming months.
