The government has recently distributed special Corona funds, known as Maanak L’Kol Ezrach. Foreign citizens who are Bituach Leumi members are also eligible for these funds. However, there have been various difficulties for foreigners to receive these funds. Chaim V’Chessed reached out to Knesset members Rabbi Moshe Gafni and Rabbi Yitzchak Pindrus of Degel HaTorah, who acted quickly to streamline the process for receiving these funds.
Foreign citizens who have a bank account on file with Bituach Leumi should have received these funds directly into that account. If you did not, contact Bituach Leumi to update your bank account, or do so online, by clicking here.
Foreigners who do not have a bank account may receive these funds by going to the Post Office. You will need to identify yourself with your passport and the Bituach Leumi card which you received with your Bituach Leumi registration. If you have lost yours, you will need to contact Bituach Leumi to request a new card. Additionally, if your passport number has changed since you registered with Bituach Leumi, you will need a new card, as well.
How to apply for a new Bituach Leumi card? Fax a request to 02-6709633 or email darkon@nioi.gov.il. Detail your name, Bituach Leumi number, address, email/phone, and a photocopy of your current passport. If your passport has changed, send a copy of your old passport as well, and note that you now have a new passport number.
Where will the card be sent? The new card will be sent to the address which you submit, so make sure to write it as clearly as possible.
When will the new card arrive? The new card should arrive within several days of your request.
