With the onset of spring, Chaim V’Chessed has been getting newcomers acquainted with life in Eretz Yisrael. That means inquiries about Israeli bureaucracy are especially frequent these days! Still, that hasn’t stopped Chaim V’Chessed from our involvement in medical, hospital and special education cases.
You’ll read about some of our special education activities in this month’s testimonial. Additionally, we have advocated for callers at kupot cholim to ensure that they would get the coverage they deserved, and we have expedited appointments that would otherwise be weeks or months away. At the same time, we have, unfortunately, dealt with deaths and other tragedies.
Chaim V’Chessed continues to grow as the one-stop solution for English speakers in Eretz Yisrael, and we look forward to continuing our work on behalf of the community.
Welcoming Newcomers
Welcome to Israel! If being an English speaker is tough for seasoned residents, it’s even harder for couples who have just arrived!
To this end, we’ve published a beginner’s guide to the three bureaucratic must-do’s: getting a student visa, signing up for a kupat cholim, and registering for Bituach Leumi. These booklets can be found in numerous yeshivos in Yerushalayim. The booklet can also be viewed and downloaded online.
