As many families attempt to navigate Israel’s mental health system, questions surrounding Sal Shikum – the country’s Mental Health Rehabilitation Services – remain common. Who is eligible? What services are included? How does one begin the process? To help provide clarity and direction, Chaim V’Chessed will be hosting a special professional workshop dedicated to explaining the system and the services available under it.
The workshop will be presented in collaboration with the Reshut Hachareidit and the Jerusalem Municipality, in an effort to ensure that the community has direct access to reliable, up-to-date information from senior officials.
The featured speaker will be Mrs. Batya Leidner, Head of the Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation in the Health Ministry. Mrs. Leidner will provide a comprehensive overview of how the Sal Shikum process works, what rehabilitation services are available, eligibility criteria, and how individuals and families can access the benefits to which they may be entitled. The session will also address common misconceptions and practical questions that often arise when navigating the system.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, March 25 (7 Nissan) at 11:30 AM and will be held via Zoom. Participation is free of charge.
For individuals, parents, and caregivers seeking a clearer understanding of mental health rehabilitation rights in Israel, this session offers an important opportunity to gain professional guidance and practical insight.
