The face of Chaim V’Chessed is the part of our activities that our callers get to see: the individual assistance we offer and the results of our efforts in making a real difference in the lives of thousands of English speakers in Eretz Yisrael. And then, there’s what happens behind the scenes. |
Bringing a case to a successful conclusion entails a lot of siyatta dishmaya and sometimes months of effort, part of which happens by branching out far beyond the walls of our office. This month, we share with you a taste of headway we have made beyond the give-and-take of our phone hotline. It’s all part of our ultimate goal: helping more and more English speakers successfully navigate all aspects of life in Eretz Yisrael. |
U.S. Embassy
Chaim V’Chessed is constantly advocating on behalf of our American clientele to help make their dealings with the United States Embassy as smooth and effective as possible. This month, we were honored and grateful to have a delegation from the Embassy visit our office and hold a wide ranging dialogue on matters pertinent to the community.
Meeting with the State Comptroller’s Office
The office of mevaker hamedinah, the State Comptroller, keeps tabs on the legalities of various public institutions. It also serves as the netzivut tlunot hatzibur – an ombudsman who fields and addresses complaints of unfair treatment by these institutions. Chaim V’Chessed has had many successes after bringing various issues to the office’s attention. In light of our extensive dealings with them, the office of mevaker hamedinah sent a senior representative to our office, where we held a productive meeting, discussing matters of concern to Israel’s English-speaking community.
