Airline Troubles Sorted Out

Passengers encountering difficulties include:

Israeli citizens without Israeli passport:

It is not uncommon for Israeli citizens to be without a passport, for a variety of reasons. For example, if their Israeli passport expired or was lost while overseas – the embassies and consulates are currently closed, so they have no way to obtain a new passport. ISRAELI CITIZENS ARE PERMITTED TO ENTER UPON PRESENTING AN ISRAEL IDENTITY CARD (Teudat zehut).

Israeli permanent residents:

Permanent residents of Israel are permitted to enter Israel.  Their rights are nearly identical to Israeli citizens; however, one of the few exceptions is that they cannot receive Israeli passports. PERMANENT RESIDENTS ARE PERMITTED TO ENTER UPON PRESENTING AN ISRAEL IDENTITY CARD (Teudat zehut).

Children whose parents hold Entry Permits:

Visa holders who have received Entry Permits often have children who, for some reason, did not receive Entry Permits.  SUCH CHILDREN ARE PERMITTED TO ENTER IF THEY SUPPLY PROOF OF PARENTAGE (such as a copy of the child’s birth certificate).
