Dear Chaim V’Chessed,
We owe you a lot of hakaras hatov for your help on Sunday night. My daughter was offered a position on Sunday night to go the very next morning to the Ukraine to be a counselor in a kiruv camp. We noticed that her Israeli passport was expired, so we were just about to give up on the idea of her going. My husband then remembered about your wonderful organization and called up. Rabbi Freedman returned his call right away (about 12:00 AM) and told him about the possibility of getting an ishur (one-time allowance) to travel on her American passport.
The next morning I was in Misrad Hapnim when it opened and they allowed me to go in front of the line, since I didn’t need a passport or a teudat zehut. They said, “If you only need this ishur, you don’t have to wait behind all the people who came without an appointment!” They just let me in right away to the main room to get a number.
The whole process went so smoothly – and my daughter was off at 10:00 AM to the Ukraine.
We can’t even thank you enough. It was all thanks to your help that she traveled.
Tizku l’mitzvos.
