Since September 25, Israel is under a stringent lockdown. While some government offices remain open, access is severely restricted.
In the first Corona wave, Chaim V’Chessed successfully petitioned the Interior Ministry to extend the validity of visas, due the difficulties entailed in extending them at this time. Since the onset of the current wave, Chaim V’Chessed representatives have again urged Ministry officials to once again extend visas.
We are pleased to share that the Ministry has indeed decided to extend visas once again. Any visas which expired on or after September 24, have now been extended until November 30. The Interior Ministry press release on this topic can be viewed here. The extension relates to all A Class visas, as well as B1 and B4 visas.
Unfortunately, this move will not help those whose visa expired before the onset of the new lockdown. Chaim V’Chessed is currently advocating that the start date be rolled back, so as to cover those who visas expired even prior to September 24.
