As reported yesterday, Israel has abruptly suspended the entry permit process for students. Chaim V’Chessed has been swamped with various inquiries regarding this new situation. We therefore wish to clarify:
- At this time, permits are not being granted to any students, married or single.
- The suspension of permits is supposedly only until the end of the current lockdown. However, it is uncertain when authorities will actually start granting permits once again.
- Student visa holders who are considering travelling during the Yom Tov season should bear in mind that their return to Israel may be delayed.
