Clarifications on Entry Permit Halt

As reported yesterday, Israel has abruptly suspended the entry permit process for students. Chaim V’Chessed has been swamped with various inquiries regarding this new situation. We therefore wish to clarify:

  • At this time, permits are not being granted to any students, married or single.
  • The suspension of permits is supposedly only until the end of the current lockdown. However, it is uncertain when authorities will actually start granting permits once again.
  • Student visa holders who are considering travelling during the Yom Tov season should bear in mind that their return to Israel may be delayed.
