For years, Chaim V’Chessed has been a beacon of support for families of children with special needs. Through its robust Special Education Department, the organization provides guidance and assistance to hundreds of families each year, helping them navigate the complexities of raising children with developmental and learning challenges. In addition to its ongoing services, Chaim V’Chessed has offered a variety of programs and events, including its highly acclaimed annual retreat, support groups and educational lectures for mothers of special needs children.
Continuing its mission to provide meaningful resources, Chaim V’Chessed is proud to announce the launch of Special MOMents Support Groups, a new series of support groups specifically designed for mothers of children with special needs and developmental and learning challenges. These groups offer a unique opportunity for mothers to connect, share experiences and receive professional guidance in a nurturing and supportive environment.
The program will feature three specialized support groups, each led by experienced professionals who are highly respected experts in their fields.
Groups will be for:
- Mothers of children up to 6 years old with Developmental Delays, Syndromes, ASD or genetic disorders, led by Mrs. Mimi Robinson, MSc, Family & Adolescent Therapist, on Mondays at 9:30 AM (in-person).
- Mothers of school-aged children and young teens with complex ADHD, ASD-HF, Sensory Processing Disorder or learning disabilities, led by Mrs. Ilyssa Bass, PhD, Clinical Psychologist, on Wednesdays at 11:00 AM (Zoom).
- Mothers of school-aged children and young teens with Medium to High Functioning ASD, led by Mrs. Chava Kadosh, LCSW, MA Child Development, on Tuesdays at 9:00 AM (in-person).
Each group will run for 10 weekly sessions, beginning the week of January 12, providing an invaluable opportunity for participants to share coping strategies, receive professional advice and build a sense of community with other mothers facing similar challenges.
In-person sessions will be held at Chaim V’Chessed offices in Har Chotzvim, Jerusalem. The fee for all groups is 30 NIS per session, payment in advance. Apply to join by clicking here. Space is limited.
