Webinar and More: Events for Families with Special Needs Children

Published November 27, 2024 1:15 PM IST

For years, Chaim V’Chessed has addressed the needs of families with special needs children. A robust Special Education Department provides guidance and assistance to hundreds of families each year. Additionally, Chaim V’Chessed has presented numerous programs and events, including its highly acclaimed yearly retreat, support groups and lectures for mothers of special needs children.  As the winter months begin, several new initiatives for these families are being planned.

Chaim V’Chesed is pleased to announce a unique webinar for mothers of children with special needs. Entitled Strength In the Journey: Nurturing Yourself, Nurturing Your Child, the event will feature Mrs. Chava Kadosh, LCSW, MA. Mrs. Kadosh, a clinical social worker and renowned lecturer, will delve into the importance of self-care for parents navigating the challenges of raising special needs children. She will share insights on how prioritizing one’s well-being ultimately enhances the ability to care for one’s child.

The webinar is scheduled for Monday, December 2, at 9:00 PM  Israel time, and is presented in conjunction with the Jerusalem Municipality and its’ Welfare Department. Registration is required to attend this valuable event.

In addition to this webinar, Chaim V’Chesed is pleased to announce other upcoming initiatives for parents of special needs children. For the very first time, the organization will host a Melave Malka for fathers of children with special needs. This event will create a opportunity for these dads to gain chizuk, connect and share experiences. Additionally, Chaim V’Chesed plans to launch several support groups for mothers of special needs children during the winter months.

Details of the Melave Malka and the support groups will be released in the coming weeks. These events reflect Chaim V’Chesed’s ongoing commitment to serving the English-speaking community, ensuring that parents of children with special needs are never alone on their special journey.
