While it is not mandatory to have an appointment before visiting the Arnona discount section at the Jerusalem municipality, it is strongly recommended: coming without an appointment can mean a two-hour wait. As of last month, a teudat zehut number was required when scheduling an appointment- effectively preventing foreigners from making appointments! Thankfully, Chaim V’Chessed’s intervention bore fruit. The technical managers in the Municipality have changed the appointment scheduling system both online and by phone. Appointments may now be scheduled using either a teudat zehut number, a Bituach Leumi number beginning in 77, or even a Misrad Harishui number beginning in 89.
