More Hotel Clarifications

As Chaim V’Chessed announced yesterday, the requirement to quarantine in government hotels has been cancelled. However, several clarifications must be made.

As noted yesterday, arriving passengers are required to undergo a Corona test. If, for whatever reason, a passenger refuses to do so, he or she will be compelled to quarantine in a government hotel.

Furthermore, the hotel requirement is only cancelled if the passenger presents a viable option for home quarantine. In the event that the passenger fails to demonstrate an appropriate quarantine option, officials are still authorized to compel passengers to quarantine in government hotels.

From troubling reports which Chaim V’Chessed received throughout the day, it appears that foreign travelers arriving in Israel with entry permits are being singled out for extra scrutiny over their quarantine arrangements. If you a foreigner arriving in Israel, be certain that you have an optimal quarantine location which is an empty, private home, leaving no room for questioning by officials.
