The Australian Embassy in Israel has publicized the following information:
The Australian Government has secured additional assisted-departure flights for Australians affected by the situation in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
A Government-supported charter will undertake at least two flights departing Ben Gurion Airport to Dubai. The charter flights will operate separately to the two already-announced Qantas flights from Ben Gurion Airport to London.
The flight to London on Friday 13 October 2023 is fully subscribed. The next flight will be departing to Dubai on Saturday 14 October 2023. This flight will also be free-of-charge. Further details on the flight arrangements and departure times will be communicated shortly.
The situation is highly challenging and rapidly evolving. While we have other flights planned we cannot guarantee that they will depart. If you indicate that you wish to leave Israel or the Occupied Palestinian Territories we will aim to place you on the next available flight. The Australian Government is monitoring the situation closely to ensure Australians who want to leave can do so as soon as possible.
The flights may be cancelled or changed with little notice. We will continue to liaise with you about any changes. Please ensure you monitor your emails closely. Please ensure your travel documentation and passport remain valid.
Further departure options
Land border crossings to Jordan remain open. Australians should confirm the status of these crossings prior to departure.
The Australian Government is also working to arrange bus transport from Ramallah to Jordan for Australians requiring assistance to leave the OPTs.
Departures from Gaza are challenging due to the dangerous security situation. Australians there should contact the Consular Emergency Centre as soon as possible.
Australians in Israel or the Occupied Palestinian Territories who want to leave and don’t already have plans to depart should register via DFAT’s Crisis Portal or by calling the 24-hour Consular Emergency Centre on +61 2 6261 3305 (from overseas) or 1300 555 135 (from within Australia).
